I traveled the state of California as a correspondent for the award-winning California Connected from its inception in 2002 to its final season in 2007. My features on the statewide PBS show took me from a search for Republicans in San Francisco (they do exist!) to a 24-hour visit at the busiest fire station in the nation on Skid Row in Los Angeles. I visited dangerous abandoned mines in California's Gold Country and met with the fast-shrinking middle class who are priced out of coastal Santa Barbara. In between, I covered everything from wild animal poaching to politics - including a day-in-the-life of former Oakland Mayor Jerry Brown and a visit with the nation's first-ever Saudi-born candidate for public office, Ferial Masry.

These days I'm spending time in the southern reaches of California as the Southern California on-air correspondent/producer for the statewide PBS show, California Heartland. Produced by KVIE, the show airs engaging stories about California's $27 billion agriculture industry and the people behind it.

I also produced and reported on-air stories for KCET-TV's highly-acclaimed Life & Times on such varied topics as a wild mustang sanctuary on California's central coast; Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome in veterans returning from Afghanistan and Iraq; hospice care; and a feature on the nation's only fulltime art cop, Donald Hrycyk of the Los Angeles Police Department.
