I started reporting as a 16-year-old high school student for the Contra Costa Times in the San Francisco Bay Area. I spent four years at the Times covering features, general news and writing a bi-monthly column on running. During my last year as a college undergrad, I was hired as a staff writer for the Los Angeles Times, where I worked three years before moving into broadcasting full time.
Throughout my broadcast career, I've kept my passion for the printed word alive by freelancing for magazines, including those published by American Lawyer Media; Consumer Reports publications; the Columbia Journalism Review; Outdoor California; and for several Internet publications, including LifeScript.com, named by the New York Times as one of the top websites for women's lifestyle and health issues.
